There is a new scam in Nigeria today, and it is from those in tech.
There is this investigation I carried out recently after seeing a video of someone on TikTok saying that she borrowed only 2k from a loan company, and after a month, the company is requesting over 36k as repayment.
Now from my investigation, the people doing this are fraudsters and scammers parading online as tech founders.
Most of the platforms are built completely with AI with no security.
What they do is this.
They get hold of the national Bvn verification portals, the NIBBS, and start their fraudulent businesses.
They will hire, I mean not hire. They come together with their girlfriend and use those girls as customer support to disturb those borrowing the loans.
...I will stop here because I have reported this to the authorities.
But this should end.

I Didn't Want to Just Build Another Social Media Platform.
When we started building ConX, the vision was never simply to create another place where people scroll through posts.
I wanted to build something that could become genuinely useful to people's digital lives.
Something where you can connect with people.
Build a community.
Create content.
Find opportunities.
Offer your skills.
Promote your business.
Sell products and services.
Communicate through voice and video.
Receive payments.
And continue building your digital presence.
That vision has pushed us to keep developing.
Today, I'm proud to say that ConX has evolved significantly.
We've introduced freelancing and job opportunities, polls, improved content sharing, groups and communities, voice calls, video calls, voice notes, professional bios, Stories, Status, Reels, music and sound uploads, music attached to posts, content boosting, QR-code payments, payment links, transaction receipts and bills, improved livestreaming, screen sharing, larger file uploads up to 160MB, improved real-time notifications, newsletters, app downloads and a knowledge-based support centre.
We've also continued improving the interface to make the experience cleaner and easier to navigate.
But for me, the most important part isn't the number of features.
It is what these features can enable.
A creator should be able to build an audience.
A freelancer should be able to find opportunities.
A business should be able to reach customers.
A community should have a place to grow.
A professional should be able to showcase what they do.
And an individual should be able to communicate, discover and participate without needing a completely different platform for every activity.
We are still building.
